The Middle East's only newsletter for the Commercial Vehicles industry
April 2009

Dear Industry Colleague,

Welcome to the second edition of the Commercial Vehicles Middle East newsletter - bringing you the latest international news on this multi-billion dollar industry and the exciting opportunities the regional market offers your business. Major stories featured in this issue include:

Positive news from India shows that industry leaders TATA and Ashok Leyland expect the demand for commercial vehicles to grow, having factored in inventory corrections earlier in the year and a government stimulus package that has eased liquidity in the market.

Middle East car production is also expected to grow over the next couple of years, as a number of international commercial vehicle manufacturers (including GM, Temsa, Mercedes Benz and Scania) look to build on their record sales in the region.

Meanwhile regional big spender, Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) continues to modernize the city’s transport infrastructure with its ongoing Dh1 billion construction of bus depots around the city and an order for 260 Citaro buses from Mercedes Benz.
