The ‘International’ brands of trucks, manufactured by the Navistar Truck Group, a leader in the commercial vehicle industry, have been launched in Oman through Towell Auto Centre.
The ‘International’ trucks are known for their sturdy demeanour.
Globally, International products, parts and services are sold through a network of nearly 1,000 dealer outlets in the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico and more than 60 dealers in 90 countries throughout the world.
“What makes this truck unique is that businesses don’t have to compromise with anything. They can have it all — looks, efficiency, comfort, functionality and productivity,” said S Kasthurirengan, chief executive, Towell Auto Centre.
“International Trucks’ technology and innovative styling converge with next-generation aerodynamic design to deliver superior fuel efficiency,” stated Ninan John, business manager, Heavy Commercial Vehicles, TAC.
“International also sets a higher standard for comfort – through improved ergonomics, an industry-leading suspension, advanced electronics and a whisper-quiet cab,” stated Annurag Chawla, head of Marketing and Communications, Towell Auto Centre.
Navistar currently operates six manufacturing plants in North America. The company’s truck development and technology centre is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Through a joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra, Navistar will open a new manufacturing plant in Maharashtra, India, by the end of 2009.
The ‘International LoneStar’ was recently selected the inaugural ATD Commercial Truck of the Year based on a number of criteria, including design, innovation, cab quietness and space utilisation. It beat the Freightliner Cascadia, Kenworth T660, Mack Titan, and Peterbilt Model 386, said a company statement.
